Philosophy – Do the appropriate thing, at the appropriate time, in the appropriate place!!!
-Bill Schiess
- Don’t let fifteen minutes define you and the rest of your life.
- Beautiful sunsets are caused by impurities in the air.
- Beauty, like the sunrises, will fade. It is only until we find who we are. Character is depth and is worth more than physical beauty.
- Do not marry an abuser.
- Leave after the first signs of abuse.
- Borrowing money turns you into a slave.
- Someone else owns your time and effort.
- There are only three things you enslave yourself for:
- Affordable education.
- Affordable house.
- Affordable car.
- Budget time as well as money – It’s worth more.
- Make time for your children and spouse; fill their needs.
- Keep a journal.
- Write at least weekly. Enter mostly positive things. Write about some struggles and lessons learned.
- Patch up conflicts with your family.
- Once a parent, always a parent.
- You can never be a non-parent again.
- You can’t change what happens to you, accidents happen. You can only change your attitude about what happens to you.
- Be HAPPY by developing your own moral code and living by it. You can’t be happy by breaking your own morals. Re-examine often.
- Don’t gripe, be actively involved. Griping doesn’t solve problems, work does.
- Know what needs to be done and do it as soon as possible.
- Marry up – Marry someone above your level and then go up to them, don’t bring them down. Never settle for 2nd best.
- “Do something: lead, follow, or get out of the way.” Someone else will want to do it.
- Learn the value of work. Don’t spend all your time recreating. Try creating.
- “I am successful because I am lucky; the harder I work, the luckier I get.”
- Work creates mental health.
- SMILE
- It takes 12 muscles to smile and 72 to frown, se be lazy and smile.
- Vote – If you don’t vote you don’t have the right to criticize.
