The best part of my week was my meeting with Representative Markwayne Mullin from Oklahoma. When I lived with the Hamblin family on my mission, his parents came and lived with us for a week. My companion and I taught them all of the lessons and I became really good friends with his father Jim. Jim has called me occasionally to see how I am doing and sends my nice notes once in a while. When they found out I was out here in DC, they told me to visit there son. Even with how busy he was, I sat with him in his office for over half an hour just talking about life, religion, and politics, he was a really nice guy.
At the end he gave me a challenge coin. He said I could keep it as long as I kept the challenge he gave me, if I gave up on it, I had to return it. He also said that if I gave up on it after he was dead, I had to find his grave and put it on the tombstone. It was probably one of the best parts of my summer.
My roommate backed out of the missionaries lesson yesterday, but he came out for the prayer and was grateful for the Book of Mormon one of the other interns and I had given him. I think he thinks meeting with the missionaries is more of a commitment than it is. But it has all been really positive experiences with him soo far.
Here are a few other cool things I did this week.

-Went to the Museum of Natural History

-Went to the American History Museum
-Went to the congressional baseball game
-I got a calling!
-Went to a bbq out in the woods at a sweet old couple home….it was good to be out in the wilderness with some country music again.
-Finally went swimming
Cool, have a great week all!!
